Free entry: Heritage Farm / Nursery / Aquatics centre (they use all those names!) is a great place to visit with younger kids. They have a reasonable size sandpit & picnic tables, beautiful conservatory with model train sets £1 to send a train round (Thomas & James I think!). There are hidden dinosaur models etc around and small play area at the back of the cafe. Across the other side of the car park do go and view the reptiles, marine and tropical and large fish outside. There's also a v small area you can go into with chickens, an owl etc. No entry fee, but you must purchase food/drinks from the cafe. Foodwise I'd avoid chicken wraps and can recommend jacket potatoes which are large & come with salad bar.
