Cherry Trees has entered a raft in the Guildford Lions Raft Race taking place on the 1st July and training has started in earnest!
The theme this year is movies and Cherry Trees are going all out with a Super Hero theme. Our raft is kindly being created by Tek-Tanks who have designed a fantastic Batmobile raft and as you can see from the photo, the training is being taken very seriously by our staff! The children are getting excited about coming along to support the team and we have Amber on the raft itself, representing the children from the house.
Amber’s brother Sean has been visiting Cherry Trees regularly for over 10 years. He is such a wonderful character and delights in all the activities that take place at Cherry Trees. Amber is so pleased to be doing this on behalf of her brother and all the other children who enjoy such a lovely time at Cherry Trees. Amber is also taking her role in the race very seriously, getting lots of training in the paddling pool with Sean who is helping her.
Cherry Trees, based in Guildford is here to support families providing short breaks for children aged 0 – 19 years with a range of disabilities.
We are unique in providing home from home very specialist care and go out of our way to ensure every child is cared for, has fun and learns along the way. We offer any length of stay from joining us for tea, or day care to overnights and longer stays. We are passionate about what we do and share that with the families we work with.
If you are able to support our team with just a £1 donation – every penny will help us to give children with disabilities and their families the short breaks they both need and deserve. Please support by visiting our just giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ct-fundraising
