Samspaces Post Cancer Support 5 months 2 weeks ago #2882

Hi there,
This is my first post on Surrey Mummy so thank you for having me! As way of virtual introduction, my name is Sam and I live in the Guildford area and run a unique support group for any mummy's coping with life post cancer.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer eleven years ago for the first time and since then have had two further diagnosis. I have always felt strongly about the lack of support post treatment and having my daughter just before my second diagnosis, I wanted to provide the support I missed so much. Despite battling with depression, PTSD, being unable to have another baby, PCOS, fatigue and other wonderful far reaching side effects, being able to support other mums is vital. So, three years ago I set up my website Samspaces as a resource for anyone adjusting to life again after cancer. It has grown into a very special community both online and in person and we now run a support group twice a month in the Guildford and Farnham areas, for anyone feeling in need of some solidarity and reassurance. There are regular blogs, workshops, offers and advice and local information as well as a members only network where you can tap into the wealth of wellbeing therapists in the area as well as discounts on these services and regular workshops. One of the workshops we are running in September and October is Positive Parenting during and after cancer. This has proved to be a wonderfully helpful and positive workshop for anyone juggling all of this with children who may be affected by a cancer diagnosis in the family. I am very happy to meet up one to one as I know how overwhelming and scary it can all be and sometimes one friendly face is enough! I feel passionately about helping other mummies in this area and giving them a space to feel safe and supported so if you or anyone you know may like to get in touch and find out more, click on the website or message me here.
