TAKE all the family on a fairy tale adventure this October half-term at Painshill. The 18th century landscape garden makes a wonderful day out in autumn, full of incredible tree colour and stunning vistas. Walk a journey around a wonderful landscape and discover mystical garden buildings. Take in the views from the Gothic Temple, stand in awe in the crystal covered Grotto, climb the steps of the Gothic Tower and find the hidden Hermitage.

From Saturday, October 26 to Sunday, November 2 incredible huge dragons will take over the landscape around the Grade 1 listed Crystal Grotto. Release your inner knight and go on the Painshill quest to find all the statues and protect the Grotto. If you find all the dragons you might even win a prize! The dragon trail is included in general admission so you can also walk the gardens and enjoy all the follies. Bring along a picnic or visit the Tea Room to make a day of it.

Indulge in some spooky tricks and delicious treats with Painshill’s Halloween Craft Afternoon Tea. Make paper bats and decorate biscuits while enjoying witches’ finger sandwiches, pumpkin scones, bug jelly and cake. Tickets are for Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 at 12noon or 3pm.

Also during the half-term The Cat’s Grin Theatre Company  bring fairy tale stories to the Painshill marquee on Wednesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 29. The performances incorporate three stories – Hansel and Gretel, Snow White and The Elves and the Shoemaker and are perfect for 4 to 9 year olds. Tickets to the theatre at just £5 and attendees can also take advantage of 2 for 1 entry to the landscape. Allow Cat’s Grin Theatre to bring fairy tales alive and then head off into the garden and create some of your own.
