Following Government advice, the RHS is pleased to confirm that it will be able to keep its Gardens open late and continue to run Glow outdoor illuminations trails at RHS Gardens Wisley, Harlow Carr, Hyde Hall and Rosemoor*.
The RHS has already put in place a number of measures to ensure that everyone can enjoy the evening illuminations safely, meeting Government-mandated conditions:
- Operating within strict social distancing and COVID-safe guidelines
- Marshalling visitors to ensure crowds do not form around installations along the walks
- Asking all visitors to adhere to guidelines around household groups
- Compulsory advance booking with limits on numbers for each session
- One-way routes and no trails through indoor areas such as Glasshouses
The Glow evenings at RHS Gardens will allow people to visit the Gardens safely after work and school, to walk in the fresh air and enjoy nature lit up to benefit their physical and mental wellbeing.
Tickets for Glow at all RHS Gardens must be booked online in advance. All walking routes are fully accessible. For further information, visit: https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/articles/glow-illuminations
RHS Gardens are open for pre-booked visits during the day as we know what a vital safe sanctuary they offer for mental and physical health. Additional safety measures are in place at all gardens, including social distancing, enhanced cleaning and limits on visitor volumes. Indoor areas such as the Glasshouse at Wisley are now closed.
RHS garden centres also remain open during this lockdown period to ensure that people can continue to garden and grow plants, indoors and outdoors. Indoor catering facilities are closed, but mobile and takeaway options are available at all gardens, including for Glow.
All four RHS Gardens have been awarded Visit England’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ certification, an industry-standard mark of reassurance that they are carefully following all the latest government guidance on Covid-19.
At RHS Garden Wisley near Woking in Surrey, the evening walks will run from 21 November 2020 to 4 January 2021. For more information and to book, visit www.rhs.org.uk/wisley
