Please join us on our Facebook page @WattsGallery on Saturday 1 August at 4pm for Thomas’s concert.

Thomas is the talented grandson of Richard Ormond CBE, the Chairman of Watts Gallery Trust for 32 years until 2017. Thomas started learning to play the violin with the Lauderdale Suzuki Group when he was three years old. The Suzuki Method is based on listening to music with reading gradually added. Since April he has held virtual concerts from his home to support the NHS as a way of bringing people together during lockdown while raising funds for a cause that has affected everyone. It began with a poster on his front gate and became live streamed Saturday evening concerts via Zoom. Watch Thomas perform here

Thomas has kindly offered to hold a concert for Watts Gallery Trust to raise funds for the Hope 2020 Appeal. The recent closure of Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village has had a devastating effect on our income. We face a deficit of at least £300,000 this year, putting our charity at great risk.

Watts Gallery Trust is the custodian of an extraordinary legacy, one that combines a unique campus of listed Arts & Crafts buildings, an internationally important collection and a social mission to deliver Art for All. Local charities, prisons, community groups and schools as well as thousands of people in Surrey are reliant on us, and in particular, those who would otherwise not have access to art and creativity.

Please watch on their Facebook page @WattsGallery Saturday 1 August for Thomas’s concert, and consider making a donation to help us to ensure that we continue to inspire, engage, delight and support the community that we serve for many more years to come.
