A walk tracing the events on the night of the 17th of June 1919 when Epsom Police Station was attacked by a mob of at least 400 Canadian soldiers Earlier in the evening two of the soldiers had been arrested after a disturbance at the Riflemen pub and this was the excuse to march on
the Police Station to demand their release. Discover why feelings were running high at the end of the Great War and follow the events of the 1919 Epsom Riot, from a scuffle at the Rifleman to its terrible conclusion at Epsom’s original police station in Ashley Road.
